The Ferrups UPS system we all know and love is now the Eaton FX Series UPS System from Eaton UPS Power Systems.

Originally designed in the 1970’s and 1980’s by Best Power Systems in Necedah, WI – still has its signature ferroresonant transformer design. A hardy transformer-based system to absorb all the harsh environments you can throw at it.

Still the same Ferrups?

The look is different, but the operations are the same. Eaton has carried forward it’s traditional design and updated the interface and software options. This unit has been the standby option for industrial applications for 40 years. Sizes are still in the 500VA to 18kVA.

As we know, Ferrups is reliable

The hardy transformer-based UPS system, or ferroresonant transformer, inside the Ferrups UPS System provides the traditional transformer isolation we all seek in a true UPS system. Its Active Voltage Regulation is the pre-curser design for many large, industrial voltage regulation systems protecting plants, processes, and manufacturing today.

Ferrups can take harsh voltage on the input and isolate those loads. It can withstand the disruptive harmonics on the load side, produced by many facilities today. It has come around to be an important product in our computerized, process-controlled manufacturing environments. Yay to Ferrups!

Has Ferrups changed?

Ferrups operation hasn’t changed since the Best Power Ferrups was introduced in the early 1980’s. The Ferrups is getting a makeover, the colors and shape are different. But still retains the powerful ferro transformer. The new FX Series Ferroresonant Transformer-based system, formerly known as “Ferrups.” In the 500VA to 18kVA single phase range, it is the premier option for protecting process manufacturing, PLC, or robotic-related loads.

Although the system may look a little different, you can be sure to hear the transformer “hum” as the system works just as hard as it always has.
